The Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) is a prestigious qualification award to medical aspirants interested in building their dream career in paediatrics. MRCPCH Exam Eligibility

If you are an aspirant preparing for the MRCPCH examination, ensure that you are eligible to apply for the examination. To be eligible to take the MRCPCH exam, your primary medical qualification should make you eligible for registration with the GMC (General Medical Council) of the United Kingdom, or should be recognise by the GMC. To successfully complete the MRCPCH Clinical exam, RCPCH recommends that candidates complete training for a period of two and a half years after graduation. At least one year of experience treating emergency paediatric patients is need. You need to spend six months of the first year after graduation as a house paediatrician.

Exam Pattern

There are three theory examinations, which can be taken in any order, and one clinical exam. The exams are usually conduct three times a year. The theory examinations are fully computer based. It includes, FOP (Foundation of Practice), which tests basic clinical knowledge in paediatrics, TAS (Theory and Science), tests the science behind paediatric practice. FOP and TAS are held on the same day, in the morning and afternoon, respectively. AKP (Applied Knowledge in Practice) consists of two tests with questions featuring clinical scenarios. Once you have successfully completed the 3 theory examinations, you are eligible to appear for the MRCPCH Clinical examination.
