This article discusses the eligibility criteria needed to appear for EFOG-EBCOG exams.
Applications are submitted online. The submission of applications opens several months before the day of the examination. The opening and closing dates are announced each time well in advance on the websites. Applications submitted on paper will not be accepted. The applicants fill in the application form and submit together with it the relevant documents certifying their eligibility. Information regarding the exams and the application process can be found on the EBCOG website as well.
Eligibility criteria
The following eligibility criteria are required:
- Candidates must be medical school graduates. They should also be Obstetricians and Gynecologists’.
- They must be listed on the list of Medical Practitioners in their own country or in the country in which they work.
- Candidates can sit the exams after r they have completed at least 3 years of their training program.
- A candidate can attend the EBCOG Part 2 Examination six months before completing their training program as recognized by their national Obstetrics and Gynecology Society/Authorities.
- If a candidate is eligible for the Part 2 examination, they must appear for the same within 3 years. Once this period has expired and the candidate failed to clear Part 2, they are required to retake Part 1 examination.
- Candidates must provide evidence of good standing from their Medical Regulatory Body, Employing Authority or their Head of Department.
- The candidate must provide evidence of their clinical experience and post-graduate training since graduation.
- The candidate must certify that they are not currently suspended or removed from medical practice by the Medical Council/Hospital. In addition, they must confirm that they are not involved in any disciplinary proceedings related to their clinical practice anywhere in the world, or provide details of any pending procedures.
- It is mandatory for candidates to bring a laptop with them then they appear for the examination (Mobile, Laptop, PC, or MacBook).
